AC/DC - For Those About To Rock (We Salute You) (1981)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xMUgmU_Hsjc
Excellent rock song from the year I was born. I'd sure like to see and hear those gun and cannon sound effects done live. It would be an experience to remember.

There is a band around nowadays called Airbourne who are a blatant rip-off of AC/DC. They come from Australia as well, like AC/DC did, and their music sounds exactly the same, and several of their track titles share real similarities to AC/DC's. I can understand homages and tributes but this Airbourne are just a bunch of thieves. For shame!

If the song's from 1989 or earlier, please add the year it came out. You'll draw my attention to it quicker that way and I might even consider a listen and download.

If it's from after the 80's... well, do it if you want. But you won't have my interest. :D

Currently I'm listening to Can't Get It Out Of My Head by Electric Light Orchestra (1974)

"Crush on You" from the Jets (NOT the football team :P ). I think it's from 1986 (that's when I first heard it anyway).

Electric Light Orchestra - Steppin' Out (1977)

An absolute classic. ELO's album Out Of The Blue does not contain a single duffer. All of them are excellent. Somebody once said that every track on that album could have been released as a single, and you know what, they were right.

Are any of these songs you show us from the 80's or earlier, Imperialist? I'd want to check them out, but you know how things work for me.

Right now I'm listening to yet another song by the Electric Light Orchestra, Telephone Line, which was released on their 1976 album "A New World Record". Another excellent song by them. Every song they release seems to go down well with me. Here's a link to that song for any fellow old music/ELO enthusiasts:

Well,
My Army is from the 70's (in the USSR)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XdMQEN8v49A

Dai Toua Kessen no Uta is from 1941,
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bm8Did_pi-E

Into the horizon of the decisive battle is from 1976 (I might need to show a link to the mp3, but cannot find it... might uploaded on megaupload)

I will do a repost of the other:
The Imperialist wrote:Defend the Revolutionary Leadership to the Death
(State Merited Choir of the Korean People's Army)

Listening to it through the official mp3 release, but here is the youtube:

Original screening with the choir singing for the KCTV:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hx5qRvCY2Mk

Another rendition for the KCTV with better sound quality (the images are different except for the first few seconds):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BJibrplA1ss

Better sound quality and Japanese subtitles:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5qo6De8Xclg

Slightly different version to the orchestration:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oEx1P99ANOA

Translation:
Aaah, the revolutionary leadership,
10 Millions will will become guns and bombs
To defend it to the death.

We held tightly
The individual bayonets
As it defends the Dear Leader,
The light of our oaths shines down.
Holding the red banner
the revolutionary leadership,
10 Millions will will become guns and bombs
To defend it to the death.

Defending the headquaters and fighting through,
Inheriting that spirit
Our blood boils and our chests are
Forming into fortress walls (I think this is copied from the Russian song 'March of the Defenders of Moscow')
The heart of Korea the revolutionary leadership,
10 Millions will will become guns and bombs
To defend it to the death.

Aaaahhhh.... Aaaahhhh
Defend to the death! Kim Jong Il!
Defend to the death! Kim Jong Il!

Defending to the death the Dear Leader,
And giving our lives for it,
For the warrior, an unrivalled
Glory and honour!
Fighting through Hundreds of Victories, the revolutionary leadership,
10 Millions will will become guns and bombs
To defend it to the death.

Aaaahhh..... the revolutionary leadership,
10 Millions will will become guns and bombs
To defend it to the death.
This I think, is from 1996 (but you might as well think it is from pre-1980 USSR). The actual recording, I have no idea. The mp3 recording I have is from 2000, but the video I posted might be from the late 90's (due to the wide spread famine of those days- extra propaganda is thus needed)

And all the classical music/pieces I mention are before the 1980's.

I hope I answered your question, 1981.

The Fukkireta is very recent. (I just like it because it is anime/touhou related)

Thanks. Of course, I don't mind if other people want to listen to stuff from 1990 or later. But if anything you listen to is definitely from 1989 or earlier, mention what year it came out and I'll probably give it a go.

I don't count post-1989 covers or re-recordings of old songs as being old songs themselves. The originals or pre-1989 covers or recordings are all I'm interested in. Just to let you know. :D

At the moment I'm listening to... something that is not by the Electric Light Orchestra.
I am listening to Hall and Oates - You've Lost that Lovin' Feelin' (1980)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8vP1YUkweRA
This was a cover of a 1964 hit by The Righteous Brothers, apparently, but Hall and Oates did give rather a good edge to it themselves.
