Electric Light Orchestra - The Way Life's Meant To Be (1981)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yCUm2GthNJs
I challenge you to find my favourite line in this song. This was off the same album as the song Hold on Tight which I mentioned earlier in this thread - Time, released in July 1981. A great one. I like these concept albums - basically, albums whose songs tell some sort of a story.

Re: The What Song Are You Listening To Thread
Although I like listening to rock, I also enjoy classical music.
For a guy who's kind of round, I guess I'm just an ol' square who also likes to listen to the ol' Long Hair!
MOONLIGHT SONATA (Beethoven)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w2cFEHM9yMw&NR=1
Beethoven - Fur Elise
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LQTTFUtMSvQ&NR=1
BEETHOVEN - ODE TO JOY
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wod-MudLNPA&NR=1
The next one has some really cool computer graphics.
Beethoven 5th Symphony (No. 5, graphical score animation, allegro)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rRgXUFnfKIY
Of course, this last one rocks!!!
Walter Murphy & The Big Apple Band "A Fifth Of Beethoven" Unreleased Disco Mix 1976

Like "Since You Been Gone" this one was also off the album Down to Earth. I like Since You Been Gone slightly more than this one, although this one is a harder rock track.

If I remember correctly, I believe that Sergey, one of our forum members said that he was Russian.
Too bad he hasn't posted here in quit a while, because I think he might understand what these guys are singing.
I like this song, even though I don't understand the words, but I think it's cool and it rocks.
Russian Airborne Troops (VDV) Music Video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0rAHrHd2lcw&NR=1
And here's another one.
" Oy, to ne vecher ". Russian folk song.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1KoNUYLBnX8&NR=1
This one is beautiful and it rocks!
Too bad I can't understand the words this young lady is singing.
Come on Sergey! Come back and start posting again!
You once said you are Russian, so you should be able to tells us what the words mean.

Re: The What Song Are You Listening To Thread
I agree Fat Man. We need to see more activity on here. I wondered why my weekend felt so bleak.
Now at the moment I'm listening to:
Electric Light Orchestra - Confusion (1979)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fo4SblJ_SnU
I did not have their album "Discovery" until yesterday, when I bought it. On CD, not vinyl this time. Still, great stuff. I'm quite addicted to ELO at the moment.

Nice dance tune, the first time I heard it I didn't interpret as one but I guess to me that's why I enjoy it so much.

Re: The What Song Are You Listening To Thread
Oh no, someone who spends all their time registering to websites just to annoy people and get banned just to find another website thinks that we have no life! I'm so hurt from that! I think I may need some time to recover from that. But seriously, you're such a hypocrite. You clearly have no life if you can spend your time going to other websites which you have no interest in other than trolling, yet you accuse us of having no life. Thanks for providing me some good laughs you foolish troll.Joe wrote:perhaps he got a life.Fat Man wrote:If I remember correctly, I believe that Sergey, one of our forum members said that he was Russian.

I'm not taking it out on you. Did I exhibit any signs of rage in my last post? No, I was pointing out your hypocrisy. I understand that some people come and go. I wasn't even talking about Sergey's absence in my last post, I was countering your claim that we have no lives when you in fact have no life.Joe wrote:don't take it out on me because one of your members has actually got over his obsessive hatred of sports and decided to stop posting here.

Re: The What Song Are You Listening To Thread
You are of course right, HugeFanOfBadReligion. At least when we sign up to websites we genuinely have something useful to contribute. Trolls just go around wasting people's time and slagging off things they really know nothing about. Joe here really needs to look at himself in the mirror if he wants to call us sad for making posts on a more obscure internet forum. The ones who go around annoying people only do it because they have no other ways of gaining pleasure in life. They're probably even sadder and lonelier than I am.
Anyways, it seems Joe has not lasted long. He's been SPAMMER ranked already. Well, can't be too sympathetic to those who come online and instantly start provoking.

Defend the Revolutionary Leadership to the Death
(State Merited Choir of the Korean People's Army)
Listening to it through the official mp3 release, but here is the youtube:
Original screening with the choir singing for the KCTV:

Another rendition for the KCTV with better sound quality (the images are different except for the first few seconds):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BJibrplA1ss
Better sound quality and Japanese subtitles:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5qo6De8Xclg
Slightly different version to the orchestration:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oEx1P99ANOA
Translation:
Aaah, the revolutionary leadership,
10 Millions will will become guns and bombs
To defend it to the death.
We held tightly
The individual bayonets
As it defends the Dear Leader,
The light of our oaths shines down.
Holding the red banner
the revolutionary leadership,
10 Millions will will become guns and bombs
To defend it to the death.
Defending the headquaters and fighting through,
Inheriting that spirit
Our blood boils and our chests are
Forming into fortress walls (I think this is copied from the Russian song 'March of the Defenders of Moscow')
The heart of Korea the revolutionary leadership,
10 Millions will will become guns and bombs
To defend it to the death.
Aaaahhhh.... Aaaahhhh
Defend to the death! Kim Jong Il!
Defend to the death! Kim Jong Il!
Defending to the death the Dear Leader,
And giving our lives for it,
For the warrior, an unrivalled
Glory and honour!
Fighting through Hundreds of Victories, the revolutionary leadership,
10 Millions will will become guns and bombs
To defend it to the death.
Aaaahhh..... the revolutionary leadership,
10 Millions will will become guns and bombs
To defend it to the death.
