Dear Senator Bennett,
I read an article in the March 10 edition of the Tampa Tribune about how you are against tax breaks for sports franchises.
I appreciate your stance on this issue. The tax payers have been bent over too many times to build stadiums. I realize that there is a financial basis for this. Large building projects like this make it possible for many contractors, businesses, and politicians to make huge profits at the expense of tax payers who have no voice in the use of their tax dollars.
The building of stadiums without the consent or approval of tax payers is equivalent to taxation without representation! Sporting events normally don't make money for the local community or the state. They are a drain on our economy and I feel that the rich owners of the sports franchises should bear more or all of the financial burden.
Thanks again for looking out for the little guy. I'm voting for YOU!
