Favorite link(s) in sportssuck?
I looked through all the links a couple times before but I can't tell which we were the really good ones just by the title alone so I'm gonna go through them again. What are you're favorite links on this site or any anti-sports site?
"We believe in Vader, the Darth almighty, destroyer of Alderaan and the Sith. We believe in Luke, his only son, our Jedi. He was concieved by the power of the Force, and born of the senator Padme. Suffered under Darth Sidius, electrocuted, survived and partied with Ewoks. He descended to the Death Star, on the third hour he flew out in an Imperial ship and landed on Endor. He is seated on the right hand of Obi-Wan's ghost. He will come again to train Leia to be a Jedi. We believe? in Yoda.........

I think, if I had to pick one, my favorite would be:
http://www.thebestpageintheuniverse.net ... mbassjocks
That Maddox is pretty funny. The rest of his site is pretty funny too.

you guys should let your high school days go.
Ray, no trying to attack you but it's obvious where your hatred comes from given the article that was your favorite.

And it is so true that our tax money would be much better spent on actual needs than on subsidizing professional sports. I can't think of a less worthy or less deserving cause than professional sports. Thanks for the great article!A city's money is better spent on something besides pro sports
Sure, they're entertaining and fun, but the NBA SuperSonics and other franchises are businesses. Why can't they pay their own way? A Seattle neighborhood activist advocates spending taxpayer money instead on essential services â?? for people in need.

I do believe the article stated pro sports are very exciting.
Pro sports team bring money and revenue, as well as a lot of interest. They're not going away folks.

So does paranormal investigations and war. Those will never go away either.Detroitsportsfan08 wrote:Pro sports team bring money and revenue, as well as a lot of interest. They're not going away folks.
What is the point you are trying to make?

I am very positive about it. "Ghost hunting", as you might put it as, is totally recession proof. Hence, the business is always going to exist. Ghosts never disappear, either.

They generate a lot of interest? They're a magnet for howling mongoloids, there's no doubt about that. But so what? Casinos continuously attract poor people with terrible gambling addictions. And they, like sports fans, throw away millions of dollars a year. So what?Detroitsportsfan08 wrote:I do believe the article stated pro sports are very exciting.

I don't care for gambling OR sports. They both attract the lower end of humanity and encourage their vices. Yes, they are exciting for some people (the addicted and the half-witted) but neither produce anything.
Tax money would be much better spent on something productive.

Howling mongoloids? Because you personally know the people that go to these games?
A lot of rich people love sports, and a lot of poor people hate em. So you sound stupid ranting about bagging your groceries, as if to say all sports fans have bad jobs.
Half witted? You don't know 99.9 percent of sports fans, so it's obvious your hatred stems from something. I'm also willing to bet you wouldn't dare call sports fans these names in person, you'd rather hide behind your keyboard.
Sports produce a lot of things, none of which your mind is able to comprehend I guess.
Also, where else should we spend our tax dollars? Casinos and sports stadiums help cities immensely.

Let's not get off track or we'll never arrive at anything. The article said that money (earmarked to support professional sports) would be much better spent on the needy or civil service projects than sports.Detroitsportsfan08 wrote:Howling mongoloids? In my opinion that is true. Depending on how you measure it, I think that you would almost certainly agree.
And even if casinos and stadiums helped cities immensely (which they don't), they don't help as much as a direct infusion of cash into civil projects that directly benefit tax-paying citizens.
Now stop being silly and grasping at straws. Yes, I know that popular opinion is on your side but that doesn't mean you're right. Popular opinion used to hold that the sun revolved around the earth and anyone who thought differently was burned at the stake. It turns out, as it often does, that popular opinion was wrong.
We are the brave few who know a truth to be self-evident. You are one of a crowd of millions of sheep who blindly repeat what they're told without knowing why. I pity you. One day history will recognize our contribution to social science but until then...
