Now overweight parent are having their children taken away from them by the state.
The UK is becoming more and more of a Nanny State with the USA close behind! It has happened in the USA as well. If the kids are fat, the state has stepped in to take the kids away from their parents, or if the parents are fat, the kids get taken away.
Yeah! It just keeps on getting better! . . . . . NOT!!!

Newborn baby of 23st mother
and her SIX siblings taken into
care 'over obesity fears'

An obese coupleâ??s seven children are all to be taken into care after their newborn daughter was removed over fears she would become dangerously overweight. Three children had already been removed by social services before the infant was taken from her mother within hours of her birth. Now her â??heartbrokenâ?? parents have learned that their three other children will be taken away from them too. They say the children of the so-called 'fat family' are being removed over fears they would also become clinically obese.
'Heartbroken': The family last year before social services removed any children
Before she became pregnant, the mother, 40, who cannot be named for legal reasons, weighed 23 stone (322 pounds). At that time one of her children, a toddler, weighed 4 stone (56 pounds), her 13-year-old son weighed 16 stone (224 pounds) and an 11-year-old weighing 12stone (168 pounds).
On Monday afternoon, the mother gave birth to a girl by Caesarean section. And 28 hours later, social workers arrived at the maternity ward to take the baby into care, after serving child protection papers on the patents.
Yesterday morning, a meeting of the Childrenâ??s Panel of Dundee Council decided the three youngsters still living at home should also go into care. They are expected to be removed from the family home before the end of the week.
Yesterday the mother pleaded: "I just want my wee girl home. Sheâ??s only a day old." The 18 stone (252 pound) father, 54, who was at the Childrenâ??s Panel hearing, said: "The panel members wouldnâ??t listen to me. They would only listen to the social workers. They were accusing me and my wife of physical and emotional abuse and physical neglect â?? and we deny all that."
"I have lost all my children and I am completely devastated."HOW EVENTS UNFOLDED
MARCH 2008: Family claim they are told their six children could be put into care because they are overweight. They say social workers have warned they will intervene if three of the youngsters â?? including a 12-year-old boy who weighs 16 stone (224 pounds) â?? do not lose weight within three months. His sister, 11, weighs 12 stone (168 pounds) and a four-year-old sister weighs 4stone (56 pounds).
JULY 2009: Report reveals Dundee City Council plans to spend £114,000 on hiring a team of specialists to stop the family from overeating. Three full-time professionals will advise the parents and their six children on general health issues, diet and lifestyle choices.
SEPTEMBER 20: Two of the children, aged three and five, taken into care. Eldest child already in care.
SEPTEMBER 30: Parents fail in an attempt to have their children returned. Childrenâ??s Panel hearing decides they should be kept in care, pending a family assessment by health workers.
MONDAY: Mother gives birth.
TUESDAY: Infant is taken away.
YESTERDAY: Childrenâ??s Panel decide the three youngsters still living at home should go into care.
Speaking about his wife, he added: "She doesn't know what to do next. The family feels that they have done enough to help their kids and try to keep their weight down. They love their kids so much and this is a mother's worst nightmare."
Earlier, he explained he had been visiting his wife and baby daughter at Ninewells Hospital on Tuesday when social workers served him with a child protection order relating to the infant. He said: "My wife left the hospital. The social workers wanted her to stay another 24 hours to look after the baby, but she couldnâ??t do that, knowing she wouldnâ??t be able to bring the baby home. I kissed the baby bye-bye, but my wife couldnâ??t because she was so upset."
He added: "We never thought they would come to hospital and take the baby away." The father continued: "I canâ??t understand why they are doing this to our family. Of course we are good parents. We love our children. We might overspend on them and give them too much, but that doesnâ??t mean we are bad parents. What they are doing is heartless and cruel. They are going overboard and we are suffering."
The family first came to the attention of social services in March 2008 when they asked for help in caring for the children, including the three-year-old girl, who has developmental problems. But social workers who visited the family were shocked at the size of them - including a 21-month-old boy, who they claimed was overweight at 1st 12lb.
The council then took the radical step of threatening the mother and her husband that, unless all the children lost weight, they would be removed from the family home. They were also ordered to send their children to dancing and football lessons to help them lose weight.
The family say they were also warned that their six children would be take into care if they failed to lose weight. In July this year, it was reported that Dundee City Council had signed a one-year £114,000 contract with private "minders"to stop them from over-eating.
At the time, the mother said of social services: "They keep making an issue about the kids' weight. I don't even own a deep-fat fryer."
On September 20, two of their children, aged three and five, were taken into care and joined their eldest who was already there. Now their remaining children at home could be taken away within a week. The familyâ??s lawyer, Kathleen Price, said that the family had not been given a fair hearing, and had not been kept informed about the action taken by social workers. "There is a serious question here about how you ensure that the rights of the families are protected," she told The Times.
"It is very difficult for the family to get a fair hearing if the social workers have got it wrong. The (childrenâ??s panel) are very influenced by the social workersâ?? recommendations ... The family is not being helped here, they have been systematically bullied and disempowered." A council spokesman said: "We will not comment in detail on any family with whom we are involved, but we have made it clear on numerous occasions that children would not be removed from a family environment just because of a weight issue."
He added: "Any decision about a childâ??s situation is given full and careful consideration. It is never taken lightly and always at the forefront is what is the best course of action for the welfare and safety of the child. The decision to remove children from any parentâ??s care on a compulsory basis is not made by councils but by the childrenâ??s hearing system."
Now, I can understand state intervention in cases where children are being emotionally, mentally, physically, and/or sexually abused by their parents. In those cases, the state has a right to step in.
But to break up families just for being fat, well, that is going way too far.
Somehow, I just don't see giving your child an ice cream cone as a form of child abuse!
Oh! And here's my favorite part!
Yeah! This is the best part yet! I just love it! . . . . . NOT!!!They were also ordered to send their children to dancing and football lessons to help them lose weight.
Maybe the dancing lessons are OK, but to force kids to play football, that is most definitely going way too far!
If the state had taken me away from my parents just for being overweight, and forced me to play football, I would have rebelled against the self-appointed nannies, and then I might have gotten into some more real trouble and got locked up somewhere.
Oh wait! That has happened to me!
But it was for a different reason. I spent three weeks in a psych-ward as a result of an emotional and mental break-down after being bullied around in high school at the age of 17 and then, while I was in the psych-ward I was beaten and raped!
Anytime the state says it's doing something for your own good, that's when I know, that no good is going to come from it.
Like, we're from, the Government and we're here to help you!
YEAH RIGHT!
I wish I had a dollar for every time I heard that!

Now the family in the photo above, they don't look unusually fat to me. They look like a typical normal average family, a bit chubby, yes, but they really don't look any different from any other typical family that one sees in modern industrialized countries with an advanced technology where the average life expectancy is about 80 years, unlike thin people in third-world countries where the average life expectancy is only about 40 years.
I would much rather live fat at 70 years or more in a modern industrialized country than to die thin at 40 in a third world country.
OK, in the photo above, the 12 year old boy weighs about 224 pounds, which admittedly is an unusually high weight for that age, but he appears to be almost as tall as his father, so he must also be rather tall for his age as well. When I was only 15, I weighed about 220 pounds myself. No big deal!
I have come across a recent article here in the USA that some so-called obesity "experts" are complaining that 11 year old children today are about 10 pounds heavier than 11 year old children back in the 1970s.
But what the article forgot to mention is that 11 year old children today are more than an inch taller than 11 year old kids were in the 70's.
Like, HELLO! Taller people are just naturally going to weigh more than shorter people! HELLO! HELLO! HELL-FUCKIN'-LOHO!!!
I just wish these Government Granny Nannies would just get down of their high horses, their high thin horses that is, and just simply mind their own damn fucking business!
Since when do we need any fucking laws to regulate human body sizes???
I'm fat and sassy! I love to sing & dance & stomp my feet & really rock your world!
