Concerning a recent guestbook comment

Has anyone (other than Fat Man, who has already responded to the comment) read a recent comment in the Guestbook made by someone named Robbin? I just read it and responded to it, but I was quite shocked at what she said, assuming that she is actually serious. If you haven't read it, I'll quote it, but you can go to the guestbook to see my response to it, Fat Man's response, and you could also respond to it yourself.

It is a waste of time... and the stupid screaming, yelling, THOSE GD WHISTLES, etc. Really? Why? You think you won the lottery. Grown men & women acting like children - watching over paid idiots who - in Football like to run around in tights & smack each others asses, men on skates chasing an object ( puck ), men using sticks to hit a ball only to run around the field.. yep that takes talent alright. I have no desire to watch, participate, read, or hear any sport! I ABSOLUTELY DETEST SPORTS ! My husband all of a sudden is watching hockey & football - and allowing our son to watch it! One of the reasons I loved my husband in the first place was because he had ZERO interest in sports... now 10 yrs later...???? I foresee a divorce in our future if he soon don't stop! Another Fort McMurray statistic - gggrrrrr, I am completely riled up right now.. only because they are watching men in tights... unless he's turning gay! lmao

Huge Fan, I apologize for being so late in responding to your topic. I just left a message in the Guestbook, which I've copied and pasted below:

I apologize for being late in my response to the controversy below concerning Robbin. I agree with HugeFan. Divorce is a serious concern. People get divorced for trivial reasons. Regarding sports, I have a "live and let live" attitude. I have no problem with her son watching sports on TV. Personal preferences should be respected. The problem is when personal preferences are not respected. That's been a problem with the sports culture, specifically the negative attitude towards boys who have no interest in sports. I don't believe in being intolerant because more than a few "on the other side" are intolerant. I won't lower myself to their level. If a had a teenage son who wanted to play football in high school, I would support him. However, I would be concerned about the coaching philosophy of the football coaches at his high school; and I would be concerned about the possibility of my son developing the sort of cliquish attitude that seems to be so common in high-school football in the U.S. But if he had strong moral convictions, I would feel confident that he would not betray them. Well, actually, I'd still be wary ...
