Europe - The Final Countdown (1986)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tt_ro2aerQg
One of the more mainstream 80's pop songs, but still a very good one. A lot of the 80's music I like would have been considered mainstream at the time but some of my other favourites are quite off the wall.

I'm so glad that I have fixed the problem that I was having with my Mozilla Firefox browser.
Now I can download and save You Tube music videos to my computer.
Tonight I just downloaded a song by Meat Loaf.
Meat Loaf - Rock´N´Roll Dreams Come Through
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j7-i43W4mqw
And here are the lyrics to this song.
Rock & Roll Dreams Come Through
Meat Loaf
You can't run away forever
But there's nothing wrong with getting a good head start
You want to shut out the night
You want to shut down the sun
You want to shut away the pieces of a broken heart
Think of how we'd lay down together
We'd be listening to the radio so loud and so strong
Every golden nugget coming like a gift of the gods
Someone must have blessed us when he gave us those songs
I treasure your love
I never want to lose it
You've been through the fires of Hell
And I know you've got the ashes to prove it
I treasure your love
I want to show you how to use it
You've been through a lot of pain in the dirt
And I know you've got the scars to prove it
Remember everything that I told you
Well I'm telling you again that it's true
When you're alone and afraid
And you're completely amazed
To find there's nothing anybody can do
Keep on believing
And you'll discover baby
There's always something magic
There's always something new
And when you really, really need it the most
That's when rock and roll dreams come through
The beat is yours forever
The beat is always true
And when you really, really need it the most
That's when rock and roll dreams come through...for you...
Once upon a time was a backbeat
Once upon a time all the chords came to life
And the angels had guitars even before they had wings
If you hang on to a chorus you can get through the night
I treasure your love
I never want to lose it
You've been through the fires of Hell
And I know you've got the ashes to prove it
I treasure your love
I want to show you how to use it
Youve been through a lot of pain in the dirt
And I know you've got the scars to prove it
Remember everything that I told you
Well I'm telling you again that it's true
Youre never alone cause you can put on the phones
And let the drummer tell your heart what to do
Keep on believing
And you'll discover baby
There's always something magic
There's always something new
And when you really, really need it the most
That's when rock and roll dreams come through
The beat is yours forever
The beat is always true
And when you really, really need it the most
That's when rock and roll dreams come through...for you...
Well, tonight, my Rock & Roll dreams came through for me!

I too have software that allows me to download and save material off YouTube onto my hard drive.
But this is not part of my browser - no, this is freeware I found on the internet. It's called DVDVideoSoft and not only does it allow you to download videos, you can just extract the audio from a particular video which is how I get a lot of music for my MP3 player. A bit dishonest but heck, it's clever!
The DVDVideoSoft range offers a variety of programs for various purposes useful to you. You can edit downloaded videos, burn discs, download videos so they are compatible with your iPod or Windows Movie Maker - this freeware has done me a lot of good since I found it about two years back. The wonders of what can be found if you look in the right places.
But then again, look in the WRONG places and the "surprise" is somewhat nastier!

Asia - Heat of the Moment (1982)

Another one of my favourite songs from the 1980's. But I suppose there's a place in my heart for any song from the 1980's!

Hey there Wibberley and I_like_1981!!!
I know you guys like older songs.
Well, here is a song about something the happened in 1941.
SINK THE BISMARCK ~ sung by Johnny Horton
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KecIdlEAKhU&NR=1
And here are the lyrics to the song.
Sink The Bismarck
Johnny Horton
In May of nineteen forty-one the war had just begun
The Germans had the biggest ships
That had the biggest guns
The Bismark was the fastest ship
That ever sailed the seas
On her deck were guns as big as steers
And shells as big as trees
Out of the cold and foggy night
Came the British ship the Hood
And every British seaman he knew and understood
They had to sink the Bismark the terror of the sea
Stop those guns as big as steers
And those shells as big as trees
We'll find that German battleship
That's makin' such a fuss
We gotta sink the Bismark
'Cause the world depends on us
Hit the decks a-runnin' boys
And spin those guns around
When we find the Bismark we gotta cut her down
The Hood found the Bismark and on that fatal day
The Bismark started firin' fifteen miles away
We gotta sink the Bismark was the battle sound
But when the smoke had cleared away
The mighty Hood went down
For six long days and weary nights
They tried to find her trail
Churchill told the people put every ship a-sail
'Cause somewhere on that ocean
I know she's gotta be
We gotta sink the Bismark to the bottom of the sea
We'll find that German battleship
That's makin' such a fuss
We gotta sink the Bismark
'Cause the world depends on us
Hit the decks a-runnin' boys
And spin those guns around
When we find the Bismark we gotta cut her down
The fog was gone the seventh day
And they saw the morning sun
Ten hours away from homeland
The Bismark made its run
The admiral of the British fleet said
Turn those bows around
We found that German battleship
And we're gonna cut her down
The British guns were aimed
And the shells were comin' fast
The first shell hit the Bismark
They knew she couldn't last
That mighty German battleship is just a memory
Sink the Bismark was the battle cry
That shook the seven seas
We found that German battleship
Was makin' such a fuss
We had to sink the Bismark
'Cause the world depends on us
We hit the deck a-runnin' and
We spun those guns around
We found the mighty Bismark
And then we cut her down
We found that German battleship
Was makin' such a fuss
We had to sink the Bismark
'Cause the world depends on us
We hit the deck a-runnin' and
We spun those guns around
We found the mighty Bismark
And then we cut her down
Now any sailor will tell you, that the saddest sight to see, is watching a mighty ship sinking beneath the waves, even if it's an enemy ship, it's still sad to watch her go down.
Yes, they admired her, because she was such a mighty ship, even though she was an enemy ship.
But they had to sink her, because, after all, she was the terror of the seas, so they had to take her down.
And you know what? I have heard, that as the mighty Bismarck sank beneath the sea, the sailors stood on deck at attention, saluting her as she went down.
Yeah! She was one Hell of a great ship!

Hall & Oates - I Can't Go For That (No Can Do) (1981)

Probably my second favourite song from the year I was born, shortly after Ghost Town by The Specials.

Attention, i_like_1981! Here is a great song from the 1980s.

It's one of my favorites. The video features all four of the singers -- Dionne Warwick, Elton John, Gladys Knight, and Stevie Wonder. Imagine that. All that talent assembled for this one song.
"That's What Friends Are For"

I knew you would like it.

I'm not sure we
have any Sonic fans on the forums. Do we?
I'm just wondering when they're going to release the other media that's been locked on the website for several weeks, now. I mean, I don't want everything spoiled, but come on! At least give us another wallpaper!
What I can't believe is that there's apparently a full playthrough of it on YouTube
before the game has even been released!

Ah yes, a veritable classic! Just what I like in an 80's song - cheesy yet tuneful and with memorable lyrics!
We have some rather good musical tastes on this forum.

Well, as long as it's nice and old, it's fine with me.
Here is another lesser-known song by Queen that I'm very much liking at the moment, from their eponymous debut album in 1973:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bJGR7FjAbS4
Shame classics like this are not acknowledged more by Queen fans. I mean, things like "Bohemian Rhapsody" and "Under Pressure" are good, but to call yourself a true fan of a band, you have to look beyond what is most popular and accustom yourself to the various styles.
Great song.

Ah! noob moment! Lol, I just finished a website too for my internet services class!
Sucks no sonic fans. I found a extended version of it on youtube.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xcs3PnSHstI&NR=1 Apparently Super Sonic is unlockable and usable in any stage(still trying to find a source for this). Yes....I like the sound of that.

ROFL, you do realise I was kidding too. Of course I noticed your Avatar, and why else would I put up the same song with an extended version?
