Let's add to the poverty and lack of education in our country by making school as boring as possible because one out of every twenty kids that hates sports and school related activities.

Not everyone likes school, or being in a classroom. These same people still often make very successful people in life. Taking sports and the fun things out of high schools, and kids will die of boredom. IMO they have some improvement to do anyway on making school more fun, and less boring and tedious.

In high school, they took science and math away from me, and forced me to watch stupid cartoons!

In grade school, they bashed my head against a brick wall, suspended me because I failed to climb a rope, and punched me in the stomach with a basketball.

There is nothing more fun and exciting than getting my head bashed against a brick wall, and getting punched in the stomach, and being humiliated in front of the other students in the gym!

They give a lot of students something to do after school and something to look forward to. They also can be an incentive to keep your grades up and do well in school. They also help develop social skills needed for the real world. Sports are far from the reason for violence in schools.
