From 1997 to 2001, I has spent 5 years taking care of an older man who had a stroke.

He was my room-mate, and we shared a 2 bed-room apartment.

Then in 2001, he had his second stroke, suffered severe memory loss, became paranoid, delusional, and even violent!

One night, he came into my room, and attacked me with a machete. He fractured my left wrist, and struck me in the back of my head.

I had to escape from the apartment building, going down from the second floor, and out to the pay phone on the corner to dial 911 for the police. As I went down the stairs, and out of the building, I left a trail of blood behind me.

The police, and an ambulance came, and as I was being strapped to the gurney, and being lifted into the ambulance, I could see a police officer going into the apartment building with a shot gun.

I spent three days in the hospital, and my ex-room-ate hauled off to the slammer.

My left wrist was fractured, and my left hand is permanently crippled up. I happen to be left-handed.

I use to play the guitar, and do oil paintings.

But now, I can't anymore!

Sometime I wake up in the middle of the night with pain in my left wrist.

Do you know why he had his second stroke?

Because, after his first stroke, he couldn't get it up anymore and get laid, so his doctor prescribed Viagra, so that he could have his whores drop by and get laid.

Yeah! That was real smart, prescribing Viagra to someone who has high blood pressure, and already had one stroke, and the Viagra raised his blood pressure even higher and triggered off his second stroke.

So, I lost the ability to play the guitar and do oil paintings because of my crippled up left hand.

It's just one more thing that has been taken away from me.
