I only skimmed through it and what stuck out to me was a few sentences like this one: "I can honestly say I've spent every extra penny I've ever had on Saints stuff," he said. My eyes bulged alittle and I shook my head and started imagining the poor lives their future children might have to live. Also I feel sorry for the bride-to-be since it seems it was the groom that brain-washed her to become as obsessive as he is...
"We believe in Vader, the Darth almighty, destroyer of Alderaan and the Sith. We believe in Luke, his only son, our Jedi. He was concieved by the power of the Force, and born of the senator Padme. Suffered under Darth Sidius, electrocuted, survived and partied with Ewoks. He descended to the Death Star, on the third hour he flew out in an Imperial ship and landed on Endor. He is seated on the right hand of Obi-Wan's ghost. He will come again to train Leia to be a Jedi. We believe? in Yoda.........
There's a little thing called "variety". These juvenile delinquents know no such thing as variety, it seems. I, on the other hand, prefer not to get brain damage and not going to juvenile reform.

wtf? Are you guys for real with some of this? It's truly blind hatred.
Did you actually read that article? Being active and getting involved...its more than that. That type of "devotion" is borderline obsession if not, already is. But if you're too blind to see that that's ok since that's not my problem. What would happen to that happy couple if their precious Saints fell out of business? Would they divorce? Or just find team to obsess for? Also considering the financial situation no industry is safe even the holy sports.

How many times do I have to say this in order for it to get through your thick skull to your peanut-sized brain?
I am not going to change my views towards sports! It is the same for the rest, here! Just admnit we've made the better arguement and all you've done was type the same thing over and over - just differently.
When has football and cheerleading done any good for any of us? Certainly not now, nor ever. It only gives those the time to show off and make themselves look like asses and have an excuse for it. Now, when was that a statement to brag about? Yet again, certainly not now, nor ever.
It hasn't been good to any of you guys, because A.You weren't talented enough to join it or B.You never opened your mind to it.
You'll never understand the things being on a team brings because none of you were ever on one. And trust me, it goes a lot further than winning and losing.
I was VERY talented in basketball but I hated how people did nothing but brag and let down some of my friends. I left those arrogant bastards and found a better, smarter, more reliable group of friends.
I have seen what brings a team together. Do not question that. Just because I let go of an extremely weak interest doesn't mean I'm close minded. It simply means that I find other things more interesting and more important than tossing a ball around all day and cursing out fat kids.
The first time someone has conceded that sports bring at least something. Can't believe it.
And it's not your guys lack of interest in sports that is close minded. It's your whole attitude that the world would be a better place without sports.
It would be! There would be less suicides from jocks pushing around the others. Grades in schools will increase since the children and teens don't have their mind always on something else other than their work. Other industries will benefit from the increase in materials that they can work with since there aren't helmet manufacturing or brand name clothing factories pumping out junk that will most likely be totally destroyed without much use or will become refuse in a short matter of time.
Less suicides? You can't be serious. Bullying is not a product of sports. That is one of the most ridiculous statements I have ever seen. And these suicides from outcast kids are few and far between. I can't believe you would honestly make that argument.
Grades would go up? I find that one hard to believe. Often, the kids in sports are the ones who do well in school. Also, sports coaches are often telling kids how important education is, how it's the number one priority, etc.
Industries will beneft? What? They already get money for giving and providing the materials for sports usage, so you saying they can use it on more useful things is completely objective. And I guarantee these industries get a good deal of money from these sports teams, so they probably don't care.
You think sports teams have a stock of metal or material? You think industries give away their things for free? That's laughable.
