thank you fat man for saying i am psychotic and nutso,that is the most sublime thing anyone could ever say to a fellow human being.i have delivered mail for nearly thirty years and i deliberately choose to do the worst round in the office even though my seniority would permit me to do something far easier which is what a normal person would opt for.having done the same round for such a length of time you would imagine i would be on freindly terms with everyone.quite the contrary,i am proud to have built up an animousity of stupendous proportions with almost everyone on the round.the same goes for my work colleagues,many of whom i have not spoken to for over a quarter of a century even though i stand next to them on a daily basis.whenever we have meetings with the management which ordinarily should last only a few minutes they usually last about 45 mins as i deliberately engage in pointless arguments purley to delay my colleagues in going out on their rounds.wherever i go shopping i am always shunned thats why i am glad they installed a self service at the local tesco so i dont have to speak to anyone.i grew up in barnados so i have never had a relation in the whole world or a friend either.i usually spend the evenings sat alone in my downstairs sitting room listening to classical music on bbc radio 3 while smoking a pipe of st bruno flake.you have to admit that takes some beating doesnt it

In fact, I think the two of you probably have a lot in common. I hope you read this while you're online. Unfortunately, I need to leave now because here in the U.S. where I live, it's now 1:35 p.m and I haven't eaten my first meal of the day. I need to go eat now, especially since I have diabetes. That reminds me of a cartoon I once saw in a paperback that had originally appeared in -- what was the name of that magazine? The New Yorker, was it? Anyway, this cartoon (which appeared in the 1960s) depicted a man sitting in a bar, as he spoke to the bartender or another patron. He was saying, "I hate everybody -- regardless of race, color, or creed."

No, you had good reason to. He wasn't contributing anything useful to the forum recently and was just spouting a load of crap. His starting post to this thread was crap as well. I was supportive at first, as I don't like the popular culture, but now I realise what a mad, extremist and unjustified statement it was. And now he's been saying how he hates us as well, even though he dislikes sports as well, and how he wants us all to come and beat him to death. What is the fucking point of signing up to a forum whose ideology you agree with and then saying how you hate all the members? Does this guy want to be hated? I'm starting to doubt half of what he said is true. He stands alongside people in the office every day but he's not spoken to them in 25 years? Really? Makes me look like a social king in comparison. We'll cater for people who hate sports and other popular culture highlights but we shouldn't cater for people who hate everything in existence and say they want to kill everyone and destroy everything in the world. The guy is either mad, exaggerating things or just spouting off total bullshit. I might have supported his ban being lifted at one point, but a fine line has been crossed now. Let it stay.

The life you are describing sounds a lot like my life at the first place I went to college. I occasionally said as few as 20 words a week to people. I would like to give you some advice and swap stories about our frustrating lives by PM, but I can't do that any more, since you have been banned. Sorry. Maybe I'll figure out a way to get in touch. Check back New Year's Day 2011, I guess. Check for a thread with your name on it. (And thanks for the compliment about my John Le Carre / Kim Philby post. I just wish I could be that clever on a regular basis. Maybe I'd have had more girlfriends throughout my life if I were regularly that witty.)

When in doubt, I generally defer to women on questions of social dynamics.

However, I would ask everyone one thing, as a personal favour. Please, do not taunt him the same way you have taunted Samdaman in the past. For one thing, his last three or four posts were sincere and apologetic. I know exactly what his life is like. The Tesco comment was the absolute limit for me, because I've been there.

Don't worry, recovering_fan. I never had any intention of taunting him. In no way does he resemble Samdaman , who was (and still is?) a typical bully. Far from it. Wibberley just wasn't making much sense getting mad at us. I actually had felt sorry for him before this happened. I have a feeling that he will soon return, and I hope he does because he has potential friends here. I certainly would be one of them. If he'll only give us a chance and communicate ...

Hello, i am Wibberleys friend, i am posting this post just to say how unjust it was for Wibberley to be banned from this site.
Wibberley is one of the most accomplished persons i know. His knowledge of vintage jazz and dance band music is phenomenal.
