Hi Everyone!!!

Post by Jakehorror »

Hi, I'm new. I've read alot of your posts and I like what I see.
I'm a 31 year old married man. I live 20 miles from Notre Dame. Thats all I ever get to hear about. I've been labeled as a FAG, a PUSSY, a DUMBASS (sometimes we all are dumbasses).
I write horror stories and make short films. I hate sports. I dont even like TV. We dont have cable or none of that crap. We are the odd couple around here.
I've read some America hater posts and I have to agree with most of it. America does act like it owns the world. I had to grow up with all the American "standards" so I know why you hate us. In general we are obnoxious, selfish, A-holes. I dont like our government or what our country has come to stand for. Enough about that.
SPORTS is overated.
I think alot of these jocks are very insecure in their sexual orientation to be using the fag word so loosely. Maybe they have bottled up desires? They would NEVER be able to act on them in such a conservative setting. Sports teach hate. Period. Sports teach kids that winning is the goal. not tyring, but winning.
Sports teach intolerance and dicipline. Two things that should come from within, not from some big dumb jock with a whistle and closet homo tendencies.
I could go on and on but...

Notre Dame and Michigan games around here are all that matters. Not helping the homeless guy on the street with a cup of coffee. Sad sad world I have to live in.
GREAT SITE!!!!!!!!!!!!! AAAA+++++++++++++++++
Jocks are stupid. Sports suck. Deal with it.

Hello fellow sports hater,

No, please, go on and on we encourage it if it has to do with hating sports. I'm your neighbor to the north (Michigan), all the things you said in your post, I think we've all been treated thusly just for hating sports.

Welcome. brother! Of course I agree with everything you said except I'm no America-hater. A lot of us might not be too smart but there's hope for us. :)
You write horror stories and make movies? That's really interesting and unique. How'd you get into that?

How did I get into that? Well, I wouldnt really say I'm "into" it yet. I'm an amateur. I'm not in the bigtime, though someday maybe if it's in my cards.
I seen Last House on the Left when I was 4... such wholesome material for a child.lol! I wasn't suppose to see it but it was in the VCR and I was always a bit sneaky. I was hooked. Then I found Friday the 13th and so on. As I got older I got into all different styles and cultures of horror from Italian 70's Eurotrash to 80's campy fun, to modern Japanese and American. Tried College, never worked. I was lost from age 16 to about 26 with what I wanted to do with my life for a career. Then it hit me. I should make my own horror movies! I always had tons of ideas but I was tought that I can't do that type of work, that it's for "other" people. My family thought/thinks I am nuts for chasing a crazy dream. Maybe I am. My wife though, SHE has been my support line in this. We are moving to L.A. this Spring so I can get closer to the field. things are chaotic. I made a commercial for a local company in a contest, put all my own money into it for actors and locations, props etc only for it to be rejected and lose to some guy who did a CGI commercial on his computer.
I respect CGI, but this was my first real upset/learning experience.

I will work with Tobe Hooper someday, that is my dream and it WILL happen.
So I hope that answers your question. Feel free to visit my page at http://www.myspace.com/Jakehorror

welcome to the site! lol, type all you want, its fun to read! i have one question though... who desided that calling people "fags" or insinuating things about their sextual orentation were a bad thing? quiet a few of my friends are gay and it makes me feel bad when people call people gay as an insult... then again i suppose the people that do use it as an insult are idiot sports jocks who probably dont know what it means... being gay: fine, being a sports fan: lost forever in idiocy, being a sports hater: kick ass :D again welcome glad to have you here, i hope your dream happens soon :)
Sports contribute nothing to society. They are a waste of time, money, effort and TV channels! It's just a bunch of buffed up, fat headed, idiotic jocks chasing a ball around.

If cheerleading were any easier... It would be called football!

Well, good on ya! It takes REAL guts to pursue your dream! Your wife must be really nice and understanding (or maybe you're independently wealthy!). My wife would KILL me if I came home and said, HONEY, I'VE DECIDED TO QUIT MY JOB AND JOIN A BAND! ha ha ha ha ha :)

That sounds like a real disappointment --losing the commercial contest but I hope you don't let it discourage you from trying again. For all you know, the contest might have been rigged --the winner might already be connected to the company somehow. Or maybe they thought it would be cheaper going with animation than paying real actors -so it was no reflection on your talent --just economics. Is that film posted on youtube by any chance?

I'm not really a horror fan myself --I just admire creativity. In fact I just about NEVER watch them. They're too scary. The last one I watched was the Grunge. It was so full of that suspensful, scary sound effects that I could barely watch it.

LOL! The Grudge, that's not really horror, more suspense/thriller. I'm more into the slasher genre eg. The Prowler, Pieces, Texas Chainsaw, Bloodfeast Saw etc etc.).
Yeah I'm very lucky to have a wife who not only understands this crazy dream of mine, but actually pushes me into it. When I get discouraged she brings me back. I'll have writers blocks that may last a month or more then BAM out of nowhere an entire story flows from my brain to the page like melting butter.
Thanks for your encouragement on the commericial. I also think it was rigged. They said the winner gets $1000. and the 2nd and 3rd place get $500. but they never announced the 2nd and 3rd place winners and when I emailed the station to ask who won I never got a response. However, the DJ did ON THE AIR make a comment about people stalking him in an email then even went as far to say, "We got our winners, it isn't you. Dont worry about who won and get a life." That was pretty shitty of him. Isn't there some kind of law against false advertising? I thought about being a real dick about it and calling a lawyer and not letting this go.
I honestly dont care that I lost, seriously I dont, I just want to make sure that the radio station didn't get away with giving people false hope. If they did then I want them to be exposed. Anyone know law?

Yep, it's suspenseful alright! Man, that DJ sure sounds fishy. I think I'd want to press it.. but how? I don't know what the law is in this sort of thing. It seems like, to be fair, if a person or company announces a contest and invites people to work to win it, that they would have some obligation to actually pay off and to publish a list of winners. Maybe you can e-mail them again and bluff them by saying if they don't publish a list if winners, you'll... sue them. What does it cost to sue? I know one thing you can do is file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. That doesn't cost anything and you can do it online. And, because it's a government agency, they actually follow up and research the complaint! Once I ordered something through the mail and it never arrived. I wrote the company by e-mail three or four times but they refused to send another one. So I wrote the BBB. A couple of weeks later I got an irate e-mail from the company saying that I had no right, had no grounds, etc but that they would send me ANOTHER ONE --boy, they were MAD. :)
And they did. But they had it comin' --they stiffed me! Try that.

BTW, I watched another scary movie tonight --not by choice. Somebody brought it in at work --1408. S C A R Y !

1 4 0 8.... watched it yesterday! Man, I have alot of Stephen King movies, but I think that's the best one so far, maybe even better than the book!!! King is one of those few people who are so talented that all the publicity around him doesn't even do him justice. Not to mention, I hear he's a cool guy.
