And science is still being ignored while they continue to push more bullshit.

Wow! This is very interesting. Not at all like the P.E. I had to take when I was a kid. What you still need to remember, though, is that we've had different P.E. experiences.

Uh-oh. Mrs. Earl says she's not sure that she believes you. As for me, it doesn't matter much to me what to believe. All I've got to go on is words on a computer screen. Anyone and everyone here could be misrepresenting himself or herself. But any way you look at it, it's no big deal anyway. :P
Oh, But it is very true...I see where you are getting at. Maybe it's not P.E. that needs to change. It's the teachers...Iv'e had asshole teachers in my life...I just go in there and do my work. But I would HATE to have a dick P.E. teacher, If anyone ever said something to me humiliating I would say something. But if a Teacher did it?!? I would just go off. I would contact the school board, the principle, anyone that could take care of it. Nobody EVER deserves to be humiliated.

Some boys' P.E. coaches just don't care if athletic kids in their P.E. classes bully nonathletic kids. Both greencom and Fat Man (and possibly rotten as well) were constantly bullied by "jocks" in their P.E. classes. (Interestingly enough, the only fellow students who bullied greencom and Fat Man were "jocks." None of the other students bullied them.) None of their coaches cared. When greencom retaliated against one of the bullying "jocks," the coach punished greencom instead of the "jock" who had been bullying him for who knows how long. If you don't believe me, ask greencom and Fat Man.

Okay, since you asked for it, you are wrong, we are fat not because of not having PE (which we do have), we're fat, because we are the most successful country in the world, and we use our brain parts to do the work instead of the monkey boy physical plowing of the field using grandpa's femur bone. That and our government pushing the bullshit food pyramid. F'kin McGovern lying sack of $hit.
That's hardly the reason America is fat.

Don't mean to poop on anyone's parade; but most labor in this country does not involve physical exertion, and we are a well-fed country (with very delicious food). The goodies I would eat if I didn't have diabetes!

America just does not eat well, nor do they exercise near enough. It is proven that you NEED 60min of physical activity a day to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Thats also another reason for PE. Instead of playing video games and all that crap you HAVE to have some time to just walk or take a jog. That is PROVEN. No if, ands or buts. We also eat very unhealthy....I know its good but healthy thing can also be very good. Im all for a burger and some fries every now and then but everyday? No.

Please don't hold this against me. In 1972 I was mad at the Nixon administration because of their racist "Southern strategy" (which even makes my Republican wife mad) and what they did to the people of Bangladesh. I was going to sit out the election and not vote, but a pretty girl persuaded me to vote for McGovern out of protest. (No, there was no sex involved.)

Seriously, after Senator McGovern was defeated in his re-election bid in 1980 (the year of the first Reagan landslide), he went into business and soon discovered the particular problems created by Washington that small businessmen have to deal with. He then said that if he had known this when he was still a Senator, he would have voted differently on certain pieces of legislation.

I certainly don't deny the need to exercise. I have to exercise to control my blood sugar. Again, the point I was making was that the traditional sports-centered P.E. classes of my generation actually provided little exercise for the nonathletic students. In fact, the only thing I and other nonathletic guys learned from P.E. was to fear coaches and athlete classmates. The PE4Life program promotes physical fitness for all students more than any other program. (And, no, I'm not spamming. ) Speaking of which, I've got to go take my brisk, hour-long walk, the best exercise for diabetics.

That just strengthens my point. P.E. in no way needs to be banned. The attitude that coaches/teachers gives off needs to change.

I'm not trying to be mean here, just hear me out okay?

Actually that's all pretty much wrong, primitive man was healthy and did not maintain a high level of activity. Short bursts, but occasional activity. When we switched to an agricultural lifestyle we went against all our evolution and started trying to force our body to use excess sugar (ie starches and carbohydrates). Heart disease and diabetes became the norm. Mother nature designed us to eat the natural things found on this earth to stay healthy, she didn't design us to eat processed grains and potatoes. But sure, if you eat as much carbohydrates as they recommend, you will have to exercise a lot more to burn those off. And i do agree we eat very unhealthy, unfortunately, the "healthy" way to eat, as we are being told is not any better. The "healthy" way we are being told to eat, pretty much matches the same diet we feed to cows, which we feed to them to fatten them up.

See the whole theory is if you eat less calories then you take in, you will automatically lose weight. Thereby a guy my size uses around 2600 calories a day, even with no activity. It would be easy to stay under 2000 calories a day. Unfortunately, it is more important what you eat, as how much (though still somewhat relevant) It comes down to insulin and blood sugar. When your body takes in carbohydrates, some of which effect your blood sugar more then sugar, your body immediately either starts storing it, or you have to work to burn it off. Even if you try to burn it off, you can not keep up with the rate at which it is stored. So you have to exercise even more. Then to top it all off your genetics plays a big role in how much your body tries to resist the burning of fat reserves. Instead, for a lot of people, when they are trying to work out, the cells tell your body, you are starving, even though you have fat in reserve. It's kind of a cruel twist to the animal kingdom. Scientist can actually make a mouse that is fat, starve to death, while still being fat, and it's not just nourishment or nutrients. Their bodies, like our, can be tricked into not burning fat.

Seriously, go out and buy/rent/steal a copy of the documentary "fat head". It will really surprise you.

Nah, i wouldn't Earl. My main issue with him, was his food policy. Scientist were telling him, he was wrong, and he ignored them, instead listening to one of his aids, who wasn't a scientist or a nutritionist or anything.

And the as far as the second part goes, i admire him for admitting to the fact that he helped create problems. But, that is the problem with nearly every politician, they are to far out of touch with people to remember what it was like trying to make a living, whether they are an employee, or an employer.

Apparently they lowered the bar again, so even kids like you can feel special. See the word "actually" was 2nd grade vocabulary word and "acutely" was a third grade word when i was in school. Maybe you will get to those two words your senior year. Please come back to us when you get there m'kay? Buh Bye!
Oh, Sorry! I guess I can't type well 100% of the time, and what in the hell does "m'kay" mean...Because I looked it up and it isn't a word.

A guy can get into shape and even build up his physique without participating in sports. It's been done many times. I shall repeat myself for emphasis. This elementary fact which should be understood by everyone needs to be heard by all the nitwits who believe that no one can get into shape without sports, which is the Samdaman :x party line. A guy can get into shape and even build up his physique WITHOUT PARTICIPATING IN SPORTS. So, bug off, sports fascists!
