Well, I have noticed you don't use your ol' 99% percent statistic anymore.

So, I have broken you of that!

Next, I'm going to train you to jump backwards through flaming hoops!

But you still need to work on your toilet training!

Nah! I own you!

NOW, DANCE!!!

You don't own anyone, none of your arguments have been compelling enough to own anyone. Be real with yourself here.

There are many gamers who watch tournaments and even join them. Many get rewarded for playing said tournaments.
On an unrelated note, I'd like to apologize to you for something if it's not too late. A while ago I called you a "fucking bastard" and told you to "get the fuck out of America" or something like that because of how you said you didn't care about Pat Tillman. I feel like I showed the wrong attitude by saying this. As an immigrant, you probably thought what I said was very offensive. It probably seemed to you like I have the xenophobic attitude towards immigrants that many Americans have which is part of the reason why America isn't exactly the most popular country around the world these days. I don't feel that way. Since you were born in Russia (I think that's where you said you were from), you're probably not going to feel as loyal to America as a lifelong citizen like me. I believe that all immigrants should be welcome in America as long as they follow the laws, pay taxes and everything else. Both of my sets of grandparents were immigrants. One came from Ireland and the other one came from Hungary. So I hope you didn't take what I said the wrong way.

I don't really care, I just hate this:
Person A walks up to person B
Person A: Can you believe Tillman died?
Person B: Sad, but my brother-in-law died.
Person A: But what about Tillman?
Person B: I told you it's sad, but I care more about my brothers death.
Person A: But Tillman is very important person!
Person B: So? I told you my brothers death is more tragic to me...
Person A: *Insert aggressive attacks*
Person B: *Insert aggressive response*
... You can see where I'm going...

This is why my views on his death are short. Since people tend to view his death more tragic than others in front of a person who lost a relative. Maybe I would care more if this wasn't the case. Besides I lived most of my life in America.
I think I understand where you're coming from now. His death doesn't mean as much to you because you had a brother who died.

No when I was young my grandmother died to alcoholics. But yeah sports fans dramatize athlete's deaths and ignore other peoples relatives who passed away.

Sergey, I'm sorry to hear that your grandmother passed away when you were young. Alcoholism is a scourge. This January a good friend of mine, whom I had known for 40 years, died from complications arising from a severe diabetic condition that was accelerated by his alcoholism.

I understand your strong feelings about the Pat Tillman issue, but you've got to be fair. I'm not meaning to take up for sports fans, but their reaction to the deaths of stars in sports is not unique. Think of the public outpouring of grief by Elvis Presley fans when he passed away in Los Vegas and that of Beatles fans when John Lennon was murdered in New York City. They were not being disrespectful of anyone who had suffered the loss of a relative who was not famous. As someone who has suffered the loss of relatives over the years, I'm speaking from experience.

Very sad.

I am, just I can't stand Tillman's death being mourned so much. I don't know if he had a family or not, but that must really be tragic if he did. About the Elvis thing, I find it sad, but I don't really talk about his death. I really don't idolize people.

Sergey,
I agree with you Sergey, I do not idolize celebrities either. When my mother died 20 years ago from cancer I felt like my world ended. My mother's life was as important as anybody's. Elvis or Princess Di etc. She was important to me and I cannot mourn strangers (celebrities are strangers, we don't know them) as I mourn my loved ones. A celebrity dying, no matter how famous, is no more tragic than a loved one dying. I understand what you are feeling and saying.

Hi, Greencom.

Sergey and Greencom, please don't misunderstand me. I'm not defending the idolization of celebrities, much of which is driven by the media. My sister, who worked as a journalist for many years, recently said to me that the media is mindless about reporting and almost glorifying the immoral lifestyles of entertainers while they ignore the heroism of common people who do good for their communities.

Greencom, in 1973 my mother also died of cancer. That was one of the worst years of my life. In January of that year, since I knew that she was going to die, sometimes reality seemed to be less real than it was. Seeing her in the hospital two days before she died was unbearable. I also learned how brutally thoughtless some people can be when a loved one dies. A friend of mine, the one whose father once repeatedly screamed "YOU SISSY!" at him while trying to hit him in the face with a football for not performing up to par in a football practice, actually told me that my dad would soon be able to run around with other women. When my mother died, he actually said that she had not been good to me, which was a complete lie. The fact that I was grief-stricken seemed to have escaped his notice. Perhaps he was reacting self-defensively about the time when he once spent the night over at our home and wet the bed and thought he could escape notice by hiding the soiled bedsheets behind a curtain.

Good grief! That was way off-topic, but I won't apologize. Just thought I'd be a bit odd. (But what I said is true. And by the way, I've forgiven him.)
