Hello OMGdudeWhat,

Earl asked you some questions. Would you mind answering them? I think by asking you these questions he's trying help you learn more about your own prejudices surrounding sites like this. He's trying to help you realise stuff about the world, which you were basically born knowing and will become aware of knowing as soon as somebody asks you the right questions. It's called the method of Elenchus, I think; the Socratic method. Ever heard of it?

Thank you (sincerely). :) I appreciate it.

We don't all post with the same frequency. Some of us don't have as much time to spend on the Internet. That would explain why one particular viewpoint or another might appear to be predominant. On the second page of the "Off-Topic" thread entitled "Two threads you may be interested in seeing," Fat Man ends up being temporarily banned for 24 hours (which have already gone by, incidentally).
OMGdudeWhat wrote:if you want me to be more specific i can tell you i remember posts saying the things i described coming from fat man and the guy who types like a small child and has a bunch of video game related things in his profile with a robot avatar.
The second member you're referring to seems to have become inactive. He stopped posting months ago.
OMGdudeWhat wrote:and here's how you're all gonna start hating me more, but i simply cant see how anyone can hate sports/athletes/competition as a whole. i can 100% understand if you have no interest in them but the general attitude in this forum is more geared towards absolute hate. if you dont like them, then cool, just dont pay attention to them, but i see a lot of "EVERYONE SHOULD STOP LIKING SPORTS BECAUSE I DONT LIKE THEM" type of idea around here. also, dont respond as if i was saying this to you as an individual earl. i spent time reading through this site and saw many of these posts from many different users.
I understand what you're saying. Your position is reasonable. I think, though, that many (not all, perhaps) of the currently active members would not say that everyone should stop liking sports. I do recognize that some hatred is expressed here. Speaking for myself only, I don't hate people. Two of my close friends are former high-school football players. Some of the members of this forum had some bitter experiences when they were younger. My own position? There's no debating personal preferences. In other words, I'm agreeing with you on that point. My main beef is that if P.E. is to be mandatory, genuine fitness classes should be provided for nonathletic students (instead of forcing them to participate in competitive team sports) since that is the best way to get them into shape. Of course, the "old P.E." should be retained as an elective for the athletes and other students who want to participate in sports.

Oops! I just noticed the time. My wife and I have an evening assembly to attend. We have to leave the house in 15 minutes. (Believe me, I'm not making this up, as Dave Berry would say.) I hope the few comments I've made in this post have been helpful. Thanks for being civil. It's refreshing to not have a shouting match. I'm glad I kept a short reign on my temper. Perhaps later ...

its quite funny how you think all athletes/sports fans are retards or rednecks while some of you carry yourself in those very same manners, even if it is just in an online board.

anyway, if you're wondering about me, i'm 18, played soccer, basketball and ran track in high school. i graduated with a 4.9 g.p.a taking many AP classes. graduated in the top 3% of my class and go to a top college for free. i don't believe in the whole genius/gifted bs, as anyone who works hard at something can succeed, but in elementary school i was placed in that program after scoring a 160 on the iq test.

all i'm saying is that not everyone beats up fat/weak kids like you all seem to think, and maybe you should stop judging people on the basis of weather they like sports, especially if you claim to be judged for not liking them or whatever, its a bit hypocritical.

most normal people don't give a shit if you like sports or not to be honest, maybe if you tried talking like a normal person to other human beings you wouldn't get treated like an outcast like i've seen some of you complain here, hell, you might even get a girl.

that's all.
Good afternoon OMGdudeWhat

Oh! You're good!

OK, let me say, that although I was bullied around by some of the jocks in my school, the worst of the bullying actually came from my PE coaches and some of my teachers.

Now, as I have mentioned so many times before on these forums . . . when I was going to school, I was lousy at sports because of my crippled up left knee, which was due to my having been in a car accident when I was 4 years old.

As a result, I was unable to run, and I walked with a limp. The first time I got suspended from school was because I failed to climb a rope in the gymnasium. Never mind that I was passing all of my other academic subjects. Oh no! Sports was more important.

Then, when I was in the 5th grade, I had this teacher, my first male teacher, who loved to humiliate in the gym in front of the other students.

Oh! Fuck this shit! I'm just going to copy and paste this from some of my previous forum posts.

So, here goes.

When I was in the 5th grade, as I had mentioned so many times before in these forums, my 5th grade teacher who was really Gung Ho when it came to sports liked to humiliate me in front of the other students in the gym during PE class. We were playing basketball, and I dropped the ball during the game, and he picked up the ball and punched me in the stomach as hard as he could. I was doubled over in pain, and it seemed like an eternity before I could catch my breath again.

Then one day we went to the library, and while all the other students were allowed to check out any book they wanted, I was not! I saw this Astronomy book that I wanted to check out and he would not allow me to have it. We got into an argument. He then dragged me out into the hallway and pushed me back against the wall, bashing my head against the corner of the concrete block wall. I got really dizzy and nearly blacked out.

The following year, the teacher was fired and could not get a teaching job anywhere else, but the damage was already done. For years afterward I would have headaches and dizzy spells which gradually became less intense during my teenage years.

When I was 13 years old our family moved down from Minnesota to a small town in New Mexico back in April of 1965. My mother had asthma and moving down to a warmer and dryer climate was much better for her. The cold winters were too much for her, and she would probably not have survived another winter. So, I like to think that my mother lived another 20 years longer than she would have if we had remained up north.

I was in the 7th grade. Again my troubles started in PE class. One day we learning wrestling, so the mats were set up on the floor of the gym. Before we even started our lessons this one guy who was much taller than I was, and much stronger came up behind me and jumped on me, knocking me down to the floor. He had both of my arms behind my back and refused to let go.

Then the coach said, "OK, he's had enough, you may let go of him now" and then the coach jumped on me. At the time I only weighed about 140 pounds and he weighed about 250 pounds. He was pinching the nerves in the back of my neck and I felt tingly all over. I was really scared. After he let go, I took off across the gym, and he told me to come back and I told him to go to Hell!!!

No way was I going to come back so that he could finish working me over again! Forget that!!!

He then ran across the gym after me, and dragged me to the principal's office. When I explained to the principal what had happened that I did not start the fight, at first he was going to have the other student suspended for a couple of days. But the coach sucked up for him saying that he was one of his best basketball players and track runners and pole vaulters. Yeah! An all around super jock, so I got suspended instead.

It was three years before I was allowed to go to school again!

So, for three years, I was denied a decent education, by my counselors and the shrinkos at Dona Ana Mental Health.

Then finally, after three years I was informed that I was ready to go back to school again. There was a three year gap from the time I was in the 7th grade in Junior High School to being in the 10th grade as a sophomore in High School. During those three years I was held back at the 4th grade level, so most of my education was from reading library books checked out from the public library and the University library.

Well, my high school turned out to be just another glorified Kindergarten!

As I had mentioned many times before in these forums, my science teacher was also the schools football coach and during football season he was too busy coaching his team to be teaching in the classroom, so instead, he would set up the movie projector and walk out of the classroom leaving us all sitting in the dark to watch a bunch of cartoons! That was my science class! I wanted to learn science, DAMN IT!!!

In my literature class all we did was play Charades, another stupid childish game. I didn't learn jack shit in my high school.

The only thing I learned in high school was how to play Charades and how to fold paper footballs!

OK, I know that unlike most jocks, you're not stupid. You did say you scored 160 points on an IQ test. Well, when I was 13 years old I scored 150 points on a standard IQ test. So, you scored 10 points higher, big deal. I have some friends who scored 180, but they don't go around acting like pompous arrogant ass-holes about it either.

You want to know what really gets me! You were allowed to achieve academically while I was not.

Of course, since you are good at sports, then you have had extra privileges granted to you.

But when I went to school back in the 1960s, students with physical handicaps were treated differently, and we had fewer privileges. At least, that was the way it was in the schools I had attended.

So, you know what, Mr OMGdudeWhat???

You don't know what the fucking Hell you're talking about!

So, you seriously need to shut the fuck up!

And notice that I have posted your user name in pink.

Well, that will be the color of your user name after the moderators have assigned you the rank of Sports Bore and then, you will be fitted for one of these jerseys.

This will be your avatar, and you won't be able to change it back. You'll be stuck with it!

Was your friend a sports-hater? And if not, how did he (or she) find this place?

Do you find it "amusing" to post on websites in order to insult people?

As far as finding the site itself amusing, did it ever occur to you that it might well be the main objective of many people who post here to vent about sports mainly for the sake of amusing themselves at the end of the day, by blowing off a little steam? Mightn't we, too, just be amusing ourselves by taking a few well-deserved shots at people, who, in the last analysis, really don't contribute a lot to society, and yet are revered like earthly gods for some reason?

Would you mind providing answers to my questions about why you are here that are slightly less dubious than the non-answers you gave Earl in your last post?

You generalized this entire forum in that post, and I even bolded a part of your post where you literally state that we all share the same mentality, which is completely false. And by the way, I can't see why I would ever judge someone based on the weather conditions. But seriously, I'd say most active members (including myself) don't judge people based on whether or not they like sports, but I'd also say that most active members (including myself) have been judged by people based on whether or not we like sports.

First of all Capitalize the first letter in each sentence and use I instead of i and Capitalize my user name! MORON!

I'm Fat Man, and NOT fat man! OK???

Didn't they teach you anything in grade school or high school besides how to fold paper footballs? Eh?

Well, it appears that your main motive for coming here is to criticize me, and to criticize one of my friends. I believe you were referring to Sergey.

It's been a long time since Sergey has posted anything here. I really miss seeing him here, and I miss his trolling ways. He is, after all, The Trolling One.

Gee! I really miss seeing him here.

I remember, I was up late at night over a year ago, and Sergey and I were the only ones online here, we we corresponded until the wee hours of the morning. I was up until almost 4:00 AM, my local time.

Oh! And by the way, although I'm now 59 years old, I also like computer video games. OK???

My favorite one is the Microsoft Train Simulator. It's just like operating a real locomotive, and it takes every bit as much skill to operate as the real thing. Eventually I'm going to get the Train Simulator Control Panel that plugs into a USB port and it has a CD ROM disk to install the necessary software for it, then I can work actual levers for the throttle and break, and push buttons for the bell and horn. Right now I have to use my mouse to work the controls.

I have installed several add-ons for my Train Simulator. The Regional Add-On Pack, Pro Train 1 and Pro Train 2, German Railroads Volume 1 and German Railroads Volume 2, High Speed Trains, the Heidi-Express, and Scenic Railway. I even have two steam locomotives, The Flying Scotchman and The Oriental Express. I have an electric rout with a train the can hit top speeds of 180 miles per hour, and it takes 6 hours to complete the rout.

Someday, I'm going to get the Microsoft Flight Simulator. So, I also like video games. Of course, Sergey likes games that are different from mine, but I think that what he likes is also pretty cool, even though my taste is different.

Video games are NOT just for young children and teenagers. They're also good for us older people to keep one's mind alert and to maintain good co-ordination. I find that running my Train Simulator is actually quite therapeutic.

I haven't been using it for a while because I need to further up-grade my computer with some more RAM, but I had recently installed a new 3D Video Card. Yeah! I do my own work on my computer installing hardware and more software.

It's much cheaper than having somebody else doing it for me, so I'm a real computer geek.

So, you don't like Sergey's robot avatar! Eh?

Well, I think it's cool. OK?

And it's a Hell of a lot better than what your avatar is going to be, once you have been fitted with the Jersey OF Shame, and your forum rank reassigned to Sport Bore.

Of course, it all depends on whatever the board moderators decide.

Yeah, I was thinking that, too. For someone who's so smart, he doesn't seem to know the function of the Shift key. When you consistently can't use proper spelling, punctuation or grammar (one or two mistakes are okay, everyone makes them), then you kind of lose credibility.

Hello OMGdudeWhat. I wonder what inspired you to choose that for a username.
most normal people don't give a shit if you like sports or not to be honest...
Here we go again. You say "most normal people"... implying we're not normal because we don't like sports. But more importantly, I know for a fact that's wrong, because I myself have been made to feel like an outcast and been rejected by people for no other reasons than a) I don't like sports and b) I favour academic over athletic pursuits. And it ain't just a high school thing, you know. I've quite often felt excluded from my peers at the place where I work because I let them know that I'm not interested in sports. They like to wind me up with sports trivia and that sort of stuff at times, and sometimes I really can't be sure if they're joking or not. So sorry, but it seems to me like not liking sports is a bit of a sin in certain people's eyes. Not every sports fan thinks like this, but I'd definitely say a fair few.
but i see a lot of "EVERYONE SHOULD STOP LIKING SPORTS BECAUSE I DONT LIKE THEM" type of idea around here...
Nice of you not to provide a specific example of somebody saying that. That really helps your argument. I don't think that, but I definitely believe that sports need to be viewed more as mere recreational pursuits and not a multi-billion pound industry with obscene sums of money getting tossed around like they mean nothing, and an absolute requirement for all male students in school to be interested in. Seriously, people whine a lot about recessions and bad economic outlooks nowadays but they don't have a problem with all these millions of pounds and dollars being invested in these play games on an inflated scale. By no means do I feel that sports should be banned completely, but there are certain people out there who really need to learn to stop viewing them as the absolute be-all and end-all. Why, quite a few of those types have posted here over the years.

Best regards,

You all notice how these sports bores like to call us losers, saying that we can't get the chicks.

Well, the fact is, that many forum members here are married with a wife and children and raising families, so it's obvious that many of us here do have girlfriends and we actually get acquainted with a much better class of ladies than what the typical sports fan or jock ends up getting stuck with.

Most jocks end up dating cheap slutty bimbo jersey chasers, or two dollars tricks, and most sports fans end up married to bucktooth sluts.

Well, my undercover elves have found these two photos of OMGdudeWhat and his high school sweetheart!

yeah earl, you seem like a sensible guy... but i wonder, when did you go to school? I don't know if its just a state thing, or back when you went to school but your idea of what P.E should be like was pretty much how it was when i went to school. In elementary school, it was a required part of the curriculum, but it was pretty basic stuff like stretching and cardio like running a few laps. then the last 10 minutes you could play whatever you wanted like kickball and soccer or some other made up kids games i don't really remember. in middle school, p.e wasn't required, it was an elective & it was sports based. i took it, along with other kids who wanted to, no one was forced to be in there. finally, in high school, you needed 1 p.e credit to graduate, you could have either taken weight training, team sports, or just regular p.e. i took regular p.e since i didn't want to be sweaty throughout the day, and also because i already played sports after school anyway. in reg p,e you just exercised (they had a bunch of exercise equipment & simple machines like treadmills), again doing cardio, and preparing for the presidential fitness test, which included running a mile, doing push ups, sit ups, and measuring how flexible you are. the rest of the class time, you would do bookwork, learning about different ways to be healthy and keep in shape, including eating habits. so yeah, either p.e has changed over the years since you last went, or maybe it is a school/state/area issue.

and i don't think i've insulted anyone, at least not on purpose. i have shared my honest views without viciously attacking anyone like the self proclaimed intellectual fat man has done. in fact it proves how childish he is, even at what, 59? thats a little more than 3x my age, yet he acts like a child.

Yeah, I was thinking that, too. For someone who's so smart, he doesn't seem to know the function of the Shift key. When you consistently can't use proper spelling, punctuation or grammar (one or two mistakes are okay, everyone makes them), then you kind of lose credibility.
lrn2setting bro i can type like this or even in texting form and it woudn't matter. we are on an online forum, i can write proffesionally, or in any closed format if i needed to. besides that, writing isnt even my strong point, i'm way better at math, physics, history and not to mention my reading comprehension is supposed to be off the charts. but i dont like to write, oh well, i better go tell the college board to throw out my 1440 SAT score, i cant seem to write properly in sportsuck.org.

And it's a Hell of a lot better than what your avatar is going to be, once you have been fitted with the Jersey OF Shame, and your forum rank reassigned to Sport Bore.

Of course, it all depends on whatever the board moderators decide.

See ya around, HOT SHOT!!!
jesus christ. i don't know much about psychology, but definitely there's somethings you should get checked out man. way to go completely away from the topic and write every little thought in your head about video games.

also about the pink name, i don't give a shit, pinks cool with me. the avatar i couldn't care less about either.

but again, way to be mature bro (at 59?), really rocking out that 150 iq you claim to have. you sound pretty bitter.

most normal people don't give a shit if you like sports or not to be honest...
Here we go again. You say "most normal people"... implying we're not normal because we don't like sports.
but i see a lot of "EVERYONE SHOULD STOP LIKING SPORTS BECAUSE I DONT LIKE THEM" type of idea around here...
Nice of you not to provide a specific example of somebody saying that. That really helps your argument.

Best regards,
i_like_1981
-when i said most normal people, i mean people who aren't crazed sports fans. die hard sports fans are a minority compared to the rest of the population, therefore, you cannot be made an outcast in society as a whole for not liking sports. you may get made fun of by a few, but really most people have lives to worry about, jobs to go to, families to feed, etc. they dont give a shit if you like sports or not, and depending on your own mentality and how you carry yourself you might end up out casting yourself.
-you want a specific example of my quote? go read a few fat man posts, or some of that sergey guy too. keep in mind, i am new to this forum, dont expect me to have read everyone's posts, but the topics that i did read were spammed with sergey & fat man posts up the butt.
Fat Man wrote:You all notice how these sports bores like to call us losers, saying that we can't get the chicks.

Well, the fact is, that many forum members here are married with a wife and children and raising families, so it's obvious that many of us here do have girlfriends and we actually get acquainted with a much better class of ladies than what the typical sports fan or jock ends up getting stuck with.

Most jocks end up dating cheap slutty bimbo jersey chasers, or two dollars tricks, and most sports fans end up married to bucktooth sluts.
you aren't. you don't.

and i can guarantee you, you have never gone out with anyone even close to girls i have gone out with. and its not even a sports thing, i am telling you its because i can tell how girls wouldn't be attracted to you physically or personality wise. you're kind of a dick actually.

This is their cozy love nest out in the woods somewhere.

Ah! Don't you all just envy them!
i actually laughed at this. not the picture though, you seem obsessed with me... do you think im hot?

also its pretty funny that you seem to think im poor. all sports, education and whatever else topics aside, my family is pretty wealthy.

also i'm not gonna go and dissect your other post, it would take too much time, but here's a gist of what i can tell you.
-you seem to think i had privileges for playing sports, but besides leaving school 10 minutes early when there was a game, i did not. most of my teachers have no idea if you play sports unless you tell them or they see you wearing the gear. i never got handed free A's (as if i would need them) for playing a sport.
-dont know how it was back then, but if you really had a knee problem, a simple doctors or even parents note gets you out of anything. and if your knee was really fucked up there's no way a school would take a gamble with a lawsuit. maybe you just went to some poor school in a shitty area, but yea....
-you got suspended for 3 years for a "fight"/running out of class? bull shit.either theres waaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy more to that story or its straight up BS, you do not get suspended 3 fucking years or get expelled if that's what you meant for that. im sure there are laws about denying you an education or something similar to that extent...
-overall you seem pretty hung up on stupid shit like getting made fun of in the 5th grade, learn to live on? everyone is the center of a joke once in a while
-i never bragged about being "smart" or my iq. in fact i even said i dont believe in the whole genius.gifted system they have in schools. i just stated these things for you to keep in mind. im sure if i didnt you would be calling me retarded. its an assumption, but its a safe one.
-"You want to know what really gets me! You were allowed to achieve academically while I was not." i was allowed to achieve? hahahahahahah, i studied, did my work, passed my tests and found an interest in learning about science all by myself(i was hooked on carl sagan's "cosmos" since like 9th grade), no one fucking gave me anything i didn't earn. i have a full scholarship that overpays for my college because i worked hard, and i rocked the standardized test that are required to enter into college. sports didnt help me, maybe i had an advantage, but only because my parents are both top payed professionals on the salary scales. however that doesnt guarantee anything, im making the most of my opportunities i would say. but you know what fat man? you just sound like a bitter old man because he did nothing worthwhile with his life, anyone can turn tragedy to triumph if they work hard enough.

cant believe i wasted like half an hour typing this out, maybe i got defensive, ha. most of you seem to take posts as if we each believed them to be 100% facts, i know i may be wrong when i say something, even if i believe it. but theres always room to learn and form new opinions, if you cant even even do this, dont even reply to me. im not gonna even gonna bother with you if you arent even mentally on my level.
