Sports people are dirty and dishonourable. I won't be surprised if they do these kind of things (but then, I hope we can take revenge...)
Not Everyone is a Brain-dead Sports Fan!

Hello Aaron. I'm not sure if you'll post on these forums again, but anyways, welcome. I read your Guestbook comment. You seem like a guy who does rather a lot with his life, and for someone who's been given crap by the jocks, it's good to see it hasn't got in the way of your life severely or even discouraged you from being a sports fan. Frankly, from the way you're putting it, these jocks seem incredibly hard to please. I take it you're referring to the ones who play American football competitively. That sport seems to build rather intolerant characters. I live in England, where our version of football is a lot more literal, i.e. you mostly use your feet and the ball is shaped like... well, a ball, so I wouldn't know much about American football, but I think the reason American football creates a lot of bullies in your high schools is because it teaches people to be violent, aggressive and use brute force to get an advantage over other people. Anyways, I won't presume too much that I don't know. Welcome to the forum. Speak to you again sometime.sf2k4 wrote:I know I haven't introduced myself on these forums yet... I'm Aaron that posted on the guestbook, the marching band/drum corps guy. A quick intro, just so you know: Like I said, I'm in the band. I'm a graphic design major, was an engineering major, have a math minor, and thoroughly enjoy the arts, especially the performing arts. I'm also an athlete and sports fan. As a kid I played baseball, soccer, etc. and played tennis in high school. I also got the "band nerd" stigma so I don't think I can be called a "jock" if I was, you know, made fun of by them.Ray wrote: Sports fans, in general, do not have integrity or character.
Thank you for the welcome, it's nice to meet y'all, too.i_like_1981 wrote: Hello Aaron. I'm not sure if you'll post on these forums again, but anyways, welcome. I read your Guestbook comment. Well, I'm glad to be able to constantly provide new material. As I say, it's good to be on a forum where people like me who are less popular in real life have their words and points regarded and respected. Makes us feel our opinions do count for something. Thanks for the compliment.Earl wrote:I always enjoy reading your posts, '81; and Mrs. Earl likes me to read them to her.
I don't know how you feel about popularity or not being popular, Imperialist. Perhaps it does not bother you at all, but I have always had somewhat of a desire to be one of those popular people who gets to go to parties, has all the pretty women going after him and who everyone seems to respect. Of course, it never happened, and it never will happen, but I have realised that I would be a lot happier if I was popular or had experiences being popular in the past. Having lots of support from people, even if some of it is only artificial and not true, is a real booster for confidence and self-esteem. Even if everybody really thinks you're an arse but acts all respectful around you it can help a lot. Some truths are best left unspoken. But people are sheep and can be intolerant of those who are different or lack skills or interest in things considered cool, such as sports. That's why I was never popular. Because I sucked at sports, and my skills were found in what was considered square or geeky. It sounds sad to say, but it is what I feel is the truth.The Imperialist wrote:Here is a little maxim of mine;
"Real popularity only matters in politics; and being popular means that the masses think that they are connected with you, when infact, they are but pawns of the greater will"
(This may also apply to classroom politics)
Well, that's the thing. Popular people gather all the support they can so that if somebody does betray them, they'll have plenty of friends left to lessen the sting and take down the person who did betray them. Back in my high school that was never much of a problem with the popular people around. They stuck together firmly and the head showoffs also made sure to be with company at all times, and even have a few girls around to make people like me feel isolated and pathetic. None of them seemed to betray each other, as they all seemed to have similar intentions in teenage life, really. Pick on those they considered to be "losers". Get invited to parties. Have mass gatherings of friends on a regular basis and cause chaos at each others' houses. Get laid. Leech off each other for money. The popular people at high school stayed popular. They did not have downfalls (at least none I saw), as frankly, they had too much support to be at any risk of dropping down the social charts immensely.The Imperialist wrote:Well, the thing I don't like about so-called popularity, is that you never know when one of them will betray you. (And if you do not think so, you need a bit of reality check)
Yes. I agree. Sports definitely give men dicks. Because after spending an hour or so in tights or some other stupid uniform chasing a ball whilst being constantly pursued by a load of other people, you are given your very own dick. After all, this is the only way to get one of these so-called "dicks". Actually, constant blows to the groin area in rough sports are more likely to take away one's dick, rendering it unusable. So he's already wrong on that count.Samdaman wrote:Sports are what gives men dicks, so if u dont like sports u obvioulsy dont have one. Haven't answered my question yet though, typical pussy afraid to defend his intrests.
I can view it, only under Board Presence it says "User is inactive". Probably is/was a forum glitch.i_like_1981 wrote:I've noticed that when you try to click the "Profile" button on Samdaman's posts, it displays a message saying that the requested user does not exist.
