Re: You know what's bullshit...
I've never heard of "band members having to have fundraisers for jocks", if a marching band has fundraiser its for their own expenses, at all the high schools I know of music and sports programs have separate funding.Sergey wrote:You know what's bullshit? Band members having to have fundraisers for jocks! Yes, jocks NEVER give fundraisers for band members! Why don't I get money from jocks and buy the Orange Box at Fry's, but I realize I have all those games, and I make people wait behind me while I complain?
Dude, you seriously need to stop dreaming that someday video games will have as many spectators as sports and the players will make as much money, why the fuck would someone pay to watch other people play video games when they can do it themselves?Sergey wrote:You know what's bullshit? Jocks getting money for playing a simple game, and Starcraft matches don't even make that much money, I wonder who has more money, sAviOr or some jock? Meh, sAviOr...
I assume you're talking about Pat Tillman, and in that case, you better shut your fucking mouth. First of all he didn't try to tackle a vehicle, he was killed accidentally by friendly fire, so actually find out the truth before you try to make fun of a soldier who died serving his country, you fucking dumbass. He gave up a life that was just about as comfortable as it gets to serve his country even though he was critical of the war, so assholes like you can abuse your freedom of speech to make fun of "jocks".Sergey wrote:You know what's bullshit? People crying over the loss of a stupid jock in the war! Big deal, what about the other guys who actually fought instead of trying to tackle a vehicle?
I don't even know what to say about this, it's just an outright lie and never happens anywhere.Sergey wrote:You know what's bullshit? Schools paying more money for sports rather than academics or P.E.! P.E. =/= sports, common knowledge.
Most of what is learned in school will never be needed in any career a student decides to go into, so you just need to quit bitching and deal with gym class like any other class you don't like.Sergey wrote:You know what's bullshit? Schools teaching sports in school! That is equivalent to an artillery man being taught infantry tactics! Why does it matter? HE WON'T NEED IT!
Most famous athletes have their own charity foundations, so don't say they never do anything right.Sergey wrote:You know what's bullshit? Jocks thinking famous jocks who do some type of shit do something right.

TL. Yes they pay for you morons.
Gamers are smarter. Oh and you morons watch sports instead of playing them LOL!
I'll mock him the way I want, whether you like it or not.

SportsGuy92, you might be wrong about this. Please scroll down Page 1 of the list of "Sports Sucks!" topics; and read the very first post (by SEAL76) of the topic "Sports and school budgets," which is dated Monday, May 25, 2009, 7:39 p.m.SportsGuy92 wrote:I don't even know what to say about this, it's just an outright lie and never happens anywhere.Sergey wrote:You know what's bullshit? Sports-centered P.E. is useless and even detrimental to nonathletic boys. I hardly got any exercise either in the sports-centered P.E. that I was forced to take when I was a kid. As I've said before, keep the traditional sports-centered P.E. as an elective for the athletic boys. If the powers that be either are not capable of coming up with or are simply unwilling to come up with a P.E. program that actually promotes physical fitness for the nonathletic kids (hint, hint), then I say, "Leave the nonathletic kids alone."Sergey wrote:I never got exercise, and neither did the people I know.
On the other hand (and I am speaking out of ignorance on this issue), Sergey, how can you earn a living by playing video games? (Remember that as a 59-year-old man I'm out of touch with what the younger generation is doing.)

Uh where to start? There are less rioting gamers than jocks... the gamers don't bitch about losing. They are more civilized and etc.
Oh but I guess we'll just ignore those who actually did something! Like the other soldiers! They are.

Re: You know what's bullshit...
I should have said this sooner. Sergey, as long as you don't violate the forum rules, you're free to say whatever you want. I know that SportsGuy92 seems to have targeted you for some reason. I don't agree with his calling you names, but what he said about Pat Tillman is correct. He gave up a lucrative career in professional football to voluntarily serve our country. I read somewhere that one of Tillman's fellow soldiers said he did not want to be treated any differently because he had played professional football. (If I remember correctly, this other soldier wasn't even a sports fan.) This would indicate that Tillman had a humble attitude, that he was not arrogant. I get just as tired as anyone does of the mindless adulation that football players sometimes receive, but Tillman undeniably was a hero. The reason he received so much publicity is because he was a celebrity. Elvis Presley -- who, needless to say, was not an athlete -- received a great deal of publicity when he served in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1960. Tillman was killed by friendly fire at a young age, like all of our other casualties. This is extremely tragic. As a 59-year-old man, I'm saddened whenever I hear of anyone who has died so young. We should respect all of our war dead.Sergey wrote:I'll mock him the way I want, whether you like it or not.

I like video games too, and I have nothing against people who are into sci-fi, anime, etc., I just find it ridiculous that anyone would think those are more worthwhile activities to play or watch than sports.
The idiocy in this is hilarious. You even had to rephrase that because it's just so ludicrous!

Explain to SportsGuy92 what you mean. Give specific examples. You have never said why you hate professional athletes. This forum provides you an opportunity to express yourself. Believe me, while I may not agree with everything that you say, I am sympathetic to your point of view. (By the way, I don't agree with everything anyone says, including my own wife. I'm just too independent.)Sergey wrote:Earl wrote:I should have said this sooner. Sergey, as long as you don't violate the forum rules, you're free to say whatever you want. Re: You know what's bullshit...
I have to aggree, Pat Tillman was a hero, what a trajedy. Whenever I refer to pro athletes in my usual way negative way, I usually say "the vast majority" etc.etc. He was obviously one of the few in the tiny minority of pros with high values.
