Seattle cops â??embarrassedâ? at photo of AR-15 rifle carelessly left on trunk of car

Image

Not only does this Seattle police car appear to be parked more than 12 inches from the curb, its officers carelessly left this AR-15 rifle sitting on the trunk of the car while they ate donuts or drank gourmet coffee or whatever it is Seattle cops do when they are not abusing citizens.

A camera-carrying citizen snapped a photo, then flagged down a couple of bike-riding Seattle cops while a woman then followed the cop car around with the rifle in the back. So gathering from the little details provided by The Stranger, it appears that the cops then returned to the car and started driving it, oblivious to the high-power rifle sitting on the trunk.

Police officials now say they are â??very embarrassedâ? over the incident, adding that they are not sure if the gun was loaded, which means it probably was.
OK! This just goes to show, that cops, like jocks, are not the sharpest knives in the drawer!

These apple-stealing donut-scarfers were probably real losers when they went to high school.

Yeah! We have real-life Keystone Cops patrolling our city streets.

Uh huh! A couple of loonies who should be placed in The Rubber Gun Squad!

If you're a dumb-ass in school but not in good enough shape physically to become a professional football player, then you must settle for a job flipping burgers, or scrubbing toilets, or some shit like that.

But then, there is another alternative.

You can always become a cop!

And to think, we the citizens depend on these dumb-asses to protect us!!!

YEAH RIGHT!!!

OK, we all know that police work doesn't take rocket science.

BUT, COME ON!!!

There is, like, some seriously major retardation going on out there!

"Not sure" if it was loaded?? Why would police be carrying around an unloaded gun if they thought they might have to use it? Besides, don't they teach schoolchildren during safety courses to assume any gun is loaded, and act accordingly? Don't they follow their own advice?

These morons should lose their jobs over this, but they likely won't -- the police unions are a very strong political lobby.

OK...just to start off, no offense is intended by me to anyone on here who is in law enforcement, related to an officer, etc. The following statements do not apply to all police officers, so hopefully I can avoid a flame war here!

BUT...

I noticed after graduating high school, some of the worst bullies and troublemakers went on to become cops. I believe it was because it enabled them to continue pushing people around, all the while using real guns and bullets to do it, and getting legal sanction for it.

Like I said, not all police are this way. In my experience with police over the years (thankfully limited to traffic tickets, accident reports, and roadside breakdowns), some were very polite and helpful, and others were, quite frankly, pricks.

The bullies and the abusers of power should, of course, be fired, but again, police unions are very influential, and cops are under heavy pressure to never "squeal" on fellow cops -- so most of the abuses go unpunished, I would venture (see: Rodney King case). It almost takes an independent whistleblower going to the media to get any significant punitive action against police.

I was born up in Minnesota, and I lived in a small town with a population of about 850 people. It was about 20 miles west of Duluth.

We had a sheriff and only one cop who would patrol the streets in the town's only cop car, and of course, the sheriff had his own car.

Anyway . . . . .

This cop, that we had in my little town, was once a police officer in St. Cloud which was in the southern part of Minnesota.

He was booted off the police force in St. Cloud and spent some time prison after he had beaten and raped a 12 year old girl.

So, he couldn't get a job anywhere else, until he came to my little town up north.

Yeah, my town was the dumping grounds for bad cops, and bad teachers!

If they couldn't get a job anywhere else, they could just come this little town instead.

It was a creepy little town, almost like something out of a Stephen King novel.

You know, this is one of the reasons why I'm so fucked up in the head, and have suffered from mental illness in the past.

I was raised in a small town where my having a crippled up left knee, and being lousy at sports was practically considered a worse crime than being a rapist.

I was not allowed to get a decent education, and I had a teacher who would not allow me to check out an Astronomy book from the school library, and I got my head bashed against a brick wall in an argument over said book.

So, I was not allowed to get a decent education, and study science in that dirty little town.

Oh! But some low-life scum-bag who beat and raped a 12 year old girl could get a job as a cop!

Nice! Eh?

My God, thatâ??s scary. It makes me glad that the police donâ??t carry guns over here. How could they forget about the gun? It looks like a large gun, which makes it even more puzzling.

He was able to get a job as a police, despite raping a 12 year old girl!? That is awful, he should have been struck off and prevented from working with the vulnerable. Surely he should have had a CRB check or something along those lines.
