My friends and I reenact a famous play from the Super Bowl. You sit there confused, having no idea what that was. My friends and I then proceed to laugh at you.

Obviously that is a fictional story, but it's the equivalent of you guys laughing at sports fans because they don't know what the Monty Python is.

For better or worse I do watch a lot of TV not even including sports and I don't know what the Monty Python is.
Yeah you really got me, by using your lack of and poor skills in the English language and using half sentences like a brain damaged sports bore. You know what, the stupid thing is, you assume just because we hate sports, none of us know what they are. NEWS FLASH!!!! Most of us here were forced to play these games, that's why we are here. We hate sports for a reason, unlike blindly hating things like you do because they are different, or the TV tells us what things to like or our fantasy sports lovers don't understand them. Get over yourself. Go read a book. Get a girlfriend (or a boyfriend if you prefer) Take in some non-sports culture. BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY, GET YOUR HEAD OUT OF YOUR ASS!!!!

Yes, most of the people on here would get what you are trying to do, and when you were done preforming your "play" at a concert we were at, we would probably POLITELY applaud the effort, even though it largely sucked. But, you are so totally missing the point. You are the one who is not getting it. First off, we aren't laughing at them, we are shaking our heads in shame. But not because they don't get it. The point of the above story, which is a real situation, not your fantasy sports world, is not that they don't get it, the point is, they are uncivil people that can't appreciate someones hard effort for what it is. All they can do is drool like Pavlov's dog when the dinner-bell rings.

Hey mods, throw me a bone here, can someone change his login to Pollute2-4 for me. It describes him, and his mental age well.

HELL!!! I have known sports fans who were so fucking stupid they didn't even know what Star Trek is!!!

All they watch is football, football, football, football, and more football.

They don't watch the NEWS, so they don't know jack-shit. Some sports fans are so stupid they don't even know who we now have for President. I'm not kidding!!!

They never watch movies, so some of them are so stucking fupid they haven't even heard about Star Trek or any other kind of program! Again I kid you not!

The only music they know is the suckie marching band music they hear during half-time!

You know? I believe that there is a Heaven and a Hell where we go after we die, and it's not going to be what we expected.

I believe that both Heaven and Hell are located together in the same place, and what may be Heaven to one person will be Hell to another person.

For example, a rabid sports fanatic will spend eternity in a room full of nerds and geeks. The TV will be on, but there will be no football games. Instead, there will be science fiction movies, documentaries, educational programming, music concerts, anything that nerds and geeks love, but no sports! There will be all kinds of good things that the nerds and geeks will enjoy. The jock or sports fan will be in the same room with the nerds and geeks, but the nerds and geeks will be in Heaven, and the jock or sports fan will be in Hell, even though they are in the same room!

Now for me, Hell would be sitting in a room with nothing but sports on TV and having to drink stale Buckhorn beer that the redneck sports fans all like to drink. That would be Hell.

So, two people might be sitting next to each other in the same place, but one person will be in Heaven while the other person will be in Hell.

Heaven and Hell are not places in time and space, but rather, states of being.

I also believe that right now, we are all in another planet's Hell.

Well, I'm just kidding. But sometimes I think that because of sports, that Hell is right here on the earth.
ImageI'm fat and sassy! I love to sing & dance & stomp my feet & really rock your world!

All I want to hear from an ex-jock is "Will that be paper or plastic?" After that he can shut the fuck up!
Heah comes da judge! Heah comes da judge! Order in da court 'cuz heah comes da judge!

Whaaa...!? :o Okay, I'm fine with someone not watching or liking Star Trek, but not knowing what it is? It's one of the biggest and most successful franchises of all time!

In video game terms, that's like not knowing who Sonic and Mario are. Bloody hell...

Hmmm... a subjective Heaven and Hell. Interesting idea, that. :)

whoa, fuck you dude. I was trying to be civil and explain my point and you post some shit like that. From everything you were saying, it seemed like you were making fun of the fact that the sports fans didn't know about the Monty Python, on the top of the fact you thought it was rude of the sports fans to not applaud. You said you thought it was dumb for sports fans to not know what that was.

My lack poor english skills? Nice irony there.

Wow, what a comeback "fuck you dude" HEH! Very polite indeed. I get your problem though. You are just now realizing we as a group know way more about sports then you thought. We aren't blind followers like your type. We don't hate just because. We have well reasoned and insightful reasons for hating what we do. As far as my original post, i was not so much making fun of them, as pitying them for their narrow focused life. And the whole point, as i've said over and over, what made me unhappy about this was that the bores were rude for not to at least acknowledge their effort. Oh well. Whatever.

Yes, because the "fuck you dude" was as deep as my comeback got, and you had no personal attacks in your post.

You didn't say it over and over either. Now that I look back it looks like you really made it clear once before you got all pissy. And again, you called them dumb for not knowing what the Monty Python is. Would I call you dumb for not knowing something about sports? No.

I've seen The Holy Grail and The Meaning of Life before and thought they were hilarious. But Monty Python has more of a cult following than mainstream popularity in America so many people have probably never heard of it.

May or may not be the case. It's that they didn't give a shit about how much effort into it. At least act like your happy, because that's just rude.

Regardless of when i said it

Once
The point was, whether or not they got the jokes, they reacted like they could care less that the band worked their asses off to try to entertain them.
Twice (even from the same post)
I guess it was dumb of me to expect that sports bores would understand what hard work that isn't sports related is and then know how to react to it politely.
Thrice (through the use of irony and sarcasm, so maybe you didn't get this one)
They shouldn't be able to understand when someone works hard on a routine and be polite.
Fourth (sorry, there is not quadrice or other word that fits here) Please note this was the first time when i really started to get "pissy" over your gloating.
The point of the above story, ....is not that they don't get it, the point is, they are uncivil people that can't appreciate someones hard effort for what it is.
Polite24 wrote:And again, you called them dumb for not knowing what the Monty Python is.

I never directly called them "dumb" but if you feel that way, then i apologize, i guess the better words for it would be, uncultured and rude.
Polite24 wrote:Would I call you dumb for not knowing something about sports? No.
You expect us to believe this when you gloat over your victory here by way of using fragmented sentences to explain what you were talking about? Maybe so, you must be a really nice guy.

Just to make this perfectly clear.

THIS POSTS MAIN FOCUS IS NOT ABOUT THE FACT THE SPORTS FANS DIDN'T GET THE DISPLAY, BUT RATHER THEIR RUDE LACK OF REACTION TO BANDS HARD WORK
Sorry, i don't know how to make it flash.

Have i stated it clear enough for you now?

I don't think anybody is trying to be rude to the band, it's just that usually halftime is when people go to the bathroom or get food from one of the stands.
