Re: Sports Care

Well that's nice. I hear the executives of one of the major oil companies will sometimes go out and pick up litter. You know, one of those "look at us, we're not all bad guys" kinda things. I don't buy it. Just because a person or group of people I heavily dislike does something good once ...

Threads older than 4 months should not be dug up unless something significant is being added.
Sorry Larry. Your run-on sentence looks to have nothing significant to add to this 2-year old thread. Closing it.

Yeah I think we've done all the rebutting we can on this one.

Since technically, the subject that basketball is the "best" is OFF-TOPIC for this forum, I propose we lock the thread.

Oh look...I just did.

Re: A Game Magazine Outsells Time, Playboy & Sports Illustrated

What's also notable is that in the top 25, only one is sports-related. :D And not just the Game Magazine, but another magazine often touted as a "nerdzine": National Geographic, at #5. 8) I love it. On the other hand it's sad that the news magazines in the list, Time and Newsweek, didn't b...

Great link Millhouse...two very interesting articles.

The new PE gives me a lot of optimism. God do I wish that had been in place in my middle & high school years!
Heck, even college phys ed, which was relatively more fitness-based, doesn't even compare to what they're doing in that class!

Re: School Hierarchy

Best advice I can give is to keep studying hard and making those good grades so that you can get a scholarship into a good university. Once you get there, things will certainly change for the better. Sure most colleges still have the jock/frat crowd for sure...but at most decent universities, they d...

Re: Trophy Kids

These parents are going to burn their kids out someday. Incidentally, the same thing happens when parents push academics when the kids are way too young. Believe me, I know. My wife, who is a former high-school teacher, has told me how this stuff affects the kids. Good point. With academics though,...

That's absolutely hilarious and totally frightening at the same time! I've eaten some exotic foreign foods before but even I couldn't tell what most of that was. (And on an airline, you really should offer non-exotic food as much as possible anyways, to appeal to the most customers.) On the ...

Well at this point I don't have anything to add after Earl, Fatman and Millhouse and said their peace. (Well done guys...especially Earl for civil tone and taking time from your busy life.)

Wow...this Patricia Sexton sounds like an alias for Ann Coulter.
